Folklore:

It is believed by many that copper helps to ease the pain of arthritis. Goldstone is an artificial stone first made by Monks in Northern Italy around 1590. It is currently made from a brown glass in which copper oxide is mixed. Upon cooling the copper oxide changes and turns into copper crystals. The resulting glass is brown with tiny sparkling crystals of copper. Sometimes mistaken for natural sunstone or reformed sunstone, however, this material is always man-made.
