The Challenges
Every item that Tigereye's Mystic
Gem Creations sells is one of a kind. Presenting unique items to the
online shopper is enormously difficult-and so is overcoming the
shopper's skepticism about the accuracy of the presentation. Given the
unique nature of the individual items that
Tigereye's Mystic Gem Creations sells, trust becomes a
big factor in a shopper's decision to buy. "The buyer has to decide
whether to trust us and our representations," Hamilton explains. "Are
the minerals really what we say they are? Is the quality of a crystal
really what we say it is?" The challenges: to convince shoppers that
Tigereye's representations were accurate and to convince them that
Tigereye was a trustworthy online seller.
The Solution
As their concern about the
atmosphere of distrust in online selling grew, Davis and Hamilton
sought a way to give shoppers the assurance that they had
been vetted by a third party and found to be trustworthy. They became

Tigereye's Mystic Gem Creations now
Featured as one of the best places to shop by reknown expert Marshia
Collier in her book, "Santa Shops on eBay". On page 98 the book features a full
page writeup of Mystic Gem Creation's Tammarah Davis and her ownline
shop, describing the store as one of the most reliable and trustworthy
on eBay.
(eBay, inc.) "remains specifically enjoined from taking any
action ... that could reasonably be construed as degrading Claimant's
business reputation indefinitely."
Fending off the Empire
Mystic Gem Creations sells exclusively from this site, but obtained an
Indefinite Injunction against eBay Inc in the Magistrate Court of

Users will go 'ballistic,' predicts power seller, as e-commerce portal
fends off mounting competition for listings.
EBay's top sellers will also receive a discount - good news to Bill
Hamilton, a Georgia-based "power-seller" who specializes in
collectibles. But he wasn't optimistic that the changes would be
well-received.
"Most sellers will go ballistic over the feedback changes and power seller discount. I don't see any real incentive ... " Hamilton said.
EBay has struggled with flattening growth in recent years and a temporary drop in the number of items for sale on its site.

Most of the sellers are having a gut wrench about the feedback
changes. It's a very abrupt change to something that has always been
sacrosanct in the eBay world," Bill Hamilton, a top seller in Georgia
who specializes in collectible gemstones, said in an e-mail to The
Associated Press.

"To maintain our leadership position in e-commerce, we can no longer
afford to make incremental changes to meet our customers' needs,"
Donahoe said. "We need to redo our play book and we need to redo it
fast. We need to take bold actions to meet the expectations of buyers
and sellers around the world."
Donahoe said a majority of sellers will see their prices fall.
But sellers said the changes will increase their costs.
"I don't see any real incentive for the average seller to list more
with this new fee structure. I think their 'bread and butter' core
auction listings will continue to diminish as a result," said Bill
Hamilton, a Georgia-based top seller who specializes in collectible
gemstones.
